Introduction
Commissioning a new website for you or your business can be a daunting task. As a web design agency, we are often approached to provide quotes to develop websites for all kinds of businesses. In some cases we are surprised by the lack of information that is available for us to provide an accurate quote.
For example, it’s not uncommon to hear over the phone “I would like a 5 page website. How much will that cost?”.
Not only is this unhelpful from the point of view of providing an accurate estimate, but it means that not enough time has been spent thinking about what the new website will do, who is it aimed at, what budget is available and how the success of the website will be measured after launch.
Furthermore it makes it incredibly difficult for you to compare web design / development quotes from various agencies, as they will be wildly different.
Before you embark on getting quotes for your new website, time needs to be spent thinking about what you want the website to do and how that fits in with your business.
This post highlights some of the key areas that you need to think about when commissioning a new website. If you would like to discuss your new project with us then please get in touch.
