Reading Culture Live came about during the UKs first lockdown in order to facilitate access to culture online.

As physical venues closed, the need to keep people engaged in cultural activities was not only extremely important but also required a rethink in terms of how it could be accessed.

Hence Reading Culture Live was born. The vast and varied amount of content creates a virtual platform to help people both with both their physical and mental health during what has been the most challenging of situations.

It also offers the opportunity for much needed financial support for the content creators both in terms of creating the actual content and then donations and premium content that sits behind a paywall.
