An online shop is an excellent way to increase your customer base and to increase your sales. Having your own store is particularly important in terms of your brand and email lists.

If your brand is of importance to you, then you will want your own online shop.

Brands want their own identity, own web address and other accompanying pages that sit outside of the shop itself.

If you buy from Amazon, you buy from Amazon.

Of course Amazon is comprised of vast numbers of independent businesses but at the end of the day the people that buy your product will more than likely:

  • Tell people they bought your product from Amazon.
  • Receive your product in an Amazon branded parcel.

So then someone goes on to Amazon to buy the same product and they will of course be swamped with your competitors offering the same product.

Email lists

As part of a successful online shop venture, you’ll be gathering the email addresses of potential customers and existing customers.

This is not something you can do on Amazon. It’s proven that it’s easier and cheaper to get a repeat customer as opposed to a new customer.

With your email list you can send out an email if you have a new product, a sale etc

If you know what someone likes, how much they have spent and their shopping patterns, those emails can be quite targeted.

Through a process of segmentation, which is actually extremely simple, think John likes craft beer particularly around Christmas, you can up the value of your emails as they will be of real interest.

A few things we’ve learnt from recent projects

  • If all of your product images are inconsistent sizes, no worries. We have an excellent tool that will standardise them. This is essential to give a uniform layout of your products which makes it easy for your customer to quickly browse your catalogue.
  • Where applicable, e.g. books, physical products sales can be quickly converted to digital product sales.
  • Your online store can generate barcodes and QR codes for all of your products. These can be used across your marketing materials and even synced up with your physical products to increase sales.

How we work

An initial meeting will gather all of your requirements for your online shop.

We bring a lot of knowledge and experience to the table so we will provide some insight into things that you may not have thought of.

We will then put all of that information into a spec document for you to sign off so that you know exactly what it is we have agree to build for you.

Once we have built the site we can provide some training on how to manage your shop.

A highly intuitive dashboard will allow you to track all of your orders and give you insights into sales, popular products etc. This helps inform smart business decisions going forward.
